This week has confirmed winter is here. Even the deer out my window are in the white stuff up past their knees. It’s fun to see them leaping through the snow… I’m waiting to see one roll over with its legs in the air. Could be waiting a long time…
Spring is 35 days away and hard to believe. Yes, the days are definitely longer and the sun, when shining, seems warmer in sheltered spots. However, here in cottage country we have more ‘incoming’ on the way. Streamers crossing Georgian Bay leave their squally remains before travelling eastward. Somehow we’re one of the targets. Muskoka is a place to come if you love winter! More than 30 cm this week so far and 10-20 more, depending on the location of the streamers.
Clean, white and soft. It’s truly beautiful, especially when evergreen boughs are laden and appear to be bearing icing sugar. Now’s the time for festive lights!
Gravenhurst has it right. The next several days is their Winter Carnival and it doesn’t get much more wintery than this!! If you’re planning to come north for Family Day weekend make sure you have boots (not toe rubbers), long underwear and changes of clothes. Being wet and cold is not the way to enjoy Muskoka in February.
Properties are coming to market. We’ve been involved in a couple of sales and presentations for listing. Over the next several weeks things will begin to ramp up in terms of opportunities.
